this so brings back to me my time in The Big Apple in very late 1982 and early 1983. . . which I was reminded of earlier, by thoughts of wandering NYC's streets listening to Thriller on my Walkman
.
memories are interesting things sometimes

I wish I could see rolling hills/mountains and a river out of my window.

I'd like a river view (tidal preferably, but I wouldn't quibble) or a sea view (the Atlantic, with its storms)

hills and mountains would be beautiful too tho. . .

in fact, anything blue or green - anything other than a street!

Oh yes. I was talking about this with a friend the other day. She wanted sea views, I said I'd prefer a river, with hills in the background. Eventually I conceded on a river estuary (somewhere like Fowey).

a window with nice view would catch my eye and frequently distract me.

Although I do have wonderful views just a few moments away.

The shadows and light are awesome. What a great photo...and a great view.

There's something about the quiet that settles into a busy city when night gets to happen....

But--I'll take the view of the ocean, thanks. Or a river. Or an estuary.
A little creek maybe? LOL

a little creek would be just perfect!

I'm with you I. anything that's not a street. And has a bit of green and/or wet in it too.
