on the topic of buttons

(altho it wasn't buttons that led me here)

one of the things I like about Pearly Kings and Queens (aside from the buttons!) is that they look after each other, not just their own. . . "their philosophy of life was one of fate - some you win, some you lose - when things went bad you just had to pick yourself up and start all over again" (full description here)

on the subject of buttons, however, I've been wanting to sew a Union Jack comprising of red, blue and pearl buttons on the back of my denim jacket for ages now. . . but I haven't - possibly because that might be a little OTT - and I'm not quite sure why that's relevant, it probably isn't. . . a good excuse to collect buttons tho (I'm short on red)

anyone out there in need of a heart. . .

(just askin')

I suppose it's a little like

sorting buttons

you know - into a rainbow, and then into a line depending on their size, or grouping them according to how many holes there are, or stacking identical ones into little towers. . .

. . .there are so many ways to sort out buttons, aren't there

"one never knows"*

where a journey will lead(unless you're following a map, of course)

so I was thinking about buttons - like you do - and in my attempt to find the perfect image to illustrate my thoughts - a difficult proposition, one might imagine, but I was willing to give it a go - and from pearl buttons I was taken to "vintage" (I like "vintage"). . .
and that made me think of Pearly Kings and Queens. . .

who are not only vintage, but still modern. . .

and then I ended up at pearly grafitti. . .

so, only a short trip today,
but weird how I ended the week where I started it
(if you can remember that far back!)
(if you were paying attention, that is!!)
(I'll stop now)
