pardon me, boys (and gals!)

is that the Chatanooga Choo Choo?

Hey there Tex, what you say?
Step aside partner, it's my day
Lend an ear and listen to my version
Of a really solid, Tennessee excursion

Pardon me boys,
Is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?
Yes Yes - Track 29!
Boy you can give me a shine? Can you afford to board, the Chattanooga Choo Choo?
I've got my fare And just a trifle to spare
You leave the Pennsylvania station 'bout a quarter to four
Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore
Dinner in the diner, nothin' could be finer
than to have your ham and eggs in Carolina When you hear the whistle blowin' eight to the bar
Then you know that Tennessee is not very far
Shovel all the coal in, gotta keep it rollin'
Whoo Whoo Chattanooga there you are

There's gonna be, a certain party at the station
Satin and Lace, I used to call funny face
She's gonna cry, until I tell her that I'll never roam
So Chattanooga Choo Choo
Won't you choo choo me home.
Get aboard. . .
All aboard. . .
Chattanooga choo choo

So, Roy Rogers, one of the famous singing cowboys from the 1950's era, bought this new pair of boots. He woke up one morning to find them all torn up, shredded, with claw and teeth marks. He was mad to say the least.

Then he found out what happened. His pet feline had gotten a hold of the new boots and tore them up, gnawing on them like they were a candy treat.

Roy got a hold of the animal and was holding it up for a darn good scolding.

Dale Evans, his partner and sidekick, came in and said, (Are you really ready for this?)

"Pardon me Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"

put groan her---------->_______________!

I guess I found your blog. I came here from seeing you on Mel's site, thought I'd stop and have a look. Looks okay to me.

"third boxcar, midnight train, destination, Bangor, Maine"

Now why would King of the Road come to mind??

Ziggi's got "roger" on her brain!

And thanks for the nudge...I'm off to dig out some vintage jazz. Don't think I have the Choo Choo though. Oh well, I can always do my own vocals!

Chattanooga Choo Choo can be found on You Tube...
you get a two-fer, Glenn Miller and the Nicholas Brothers dancing :)

(I'd hate to disappoint Spadoman!) LOL

I, of course, am happy to hear this one--and see the train in the box. It's a cutie, for sure.

Ah, but I don't have to look on youtube for this one. Glen Miller is popular in this house for some reason. (blames himself's love affair with that era, kwim?)

the train set was for The Brit, Mel!

planet if there is something in bold red in the text, it's a link! (also there's usually a hint to click on the link in the side bar) - but thanks for that

dinah I used to have Glen Miller on vinyl, it was one of my favourites

perhaps I should buy a CD?

ZigZ now I'm humming "Stuck in the Middle with You" - I wonder why that is!!

and peace to you too, man; nice to have you here

Okay, okay...I'll show him.
