so, the POVSs and I were having our farewell dinner, and the band struck up on the green at the top of the beach. . .
the tune the smaller/younger people recognised was the theme to Wallace and Gromit, I recognised a few more. . .
the band marched up the hill, followed by the crowd (we took photos from the balcony* of the bar, where we were having coffee and hot chocolates**) (*in fact, the whole restaurant**** emptied onto the balcony to watch!) (**we were only having our coffees/hot chocolates here because we were bumped off our table by Harry Enfield*** - who's looking very old and grey these days)(***he didn't leave his table, now I come to think of it)(****but not miserable Harry). . .
. . .and there the St Minver Silver Band stopped the traffic whilst playing the Floral Dance to the delight of the crowd and everyone danced in the street

(I mentioned another of the delights of traditional English entertainment to my children - namely morris men - and they looked at me blankly)

Perhaps you could demonstrate Morris dancing for the POVs? I think we all to to whiffle occasionally.;-)

Mel it was a very quaint send-off! altho we were bumped off our table by Harry Enfield - when The Brit returns, get him to tell you about Kevin and Perry. . .

LOL :) My children never got the opportunity to not know about Morris Dancing but they'd would certainly prefer not to know about it :)
They photos are fabulously evocative, they're like paintings :)
