biting the bullet

I've had enough of below par coffee. . . and want to return to the days of the above (altho, obviously, in my case, I put both shots into one cup. . .) since my current Heath Robinson approach to the most important moment(s) of my day are totally failing to bring me any satisfactionso, the internet being a handy shopping tool, I looked online for one of the belowneedless to say my existing machine (the one that is broken beyond repair) is no longer in manufacture , so I had to chose a new one
.
now, the older (and more goldener) readers amongst you will probably know that shopping (and expenditure) of this kind was previously undertaken by the X - and now I have to fend for myself; funds are in short supply in I,LTV towers, but this morning I had a bit of good news on the financial front
.
and being the girl that I am, I immediately decided to invest my (very modest) (but newly hatched) nest-egg in a replacement coffee machine. . . yes yes yes, I know, the roof leaks and there's damp in the bathroom and two if not three of the children need new school shoes - but, hey, isn't it important to have at least one decent drink a day? my thoughts exactly
.
so, in a few days time (when it's arrived) I'll be a much happier mother to my hole-shoed brood
.
all I need to do now is find an automatic potato peeler. . .
and/or perhaps a pancake maker. . .then my life will be complete
.
ho hum
.
(-:
.
how are you today then?

Glad that I don't need anything other than a kettle to enjoy a hot drink.

Dave. You cannot drink a kettle.

This is exciting stuff.
I was surprised to see so many of those Nespresso machines (that need a capsule) in France.
I'm sure you'll be a purist.
Tell us all about it.

I've shied away from talking "all things coffee" with you, but as I see you ARE serious, I guess I'd better come out of the closet and tell you I have connections to the freshest, best quality coffees from throughout the world.
Check your e-mail.

oh yes, I'm serious all right man - no doubt about that! and hey, you're out of the closet now!!

java speaks the language, eh!!!

KAZ I'd have a Nespresso if George was floating about ready to whisk it out of my grip (actually, I'd probably be glad that he did, can't stand those capsule things)

you'll be pleased to know I ordered a red coffee machine. . .

. . .mainly because, a little like Everest, it was there

. . .but also because the only other piece of kitchen equipment I have is a red foodmixerblenderthingy (KitchenAid, I think) so now my counter top will look coordinated

Vicus they do strange things in Norfolk

Dave you are so simple - it must be a joy to be you! the real question, if anyone was to ask, is what kind of tea-bags do you use in your pot/mug/cup

if you say triangluar ones I'll be most surprised. . .

. . .come to think about it, if you say you don't, but you use loose leaf, I'll be just as surprised

(and if Vicus could make a joke at your expense about tea-bagging, I wouldn't be surprised at all. . .)

I have nothing witty or constructive to say, but I didn't want to be left out, so here is my contribution to the post.

Oh, almost, I wonder if I should get one myself. They do look such fun.
Anyway it most definitely is most important to have that perfect moment with the decent drink. At least once a day if not several times.

the coffee is rich and dark with a good creme on the top (you know, the creamy expresso bit on the top of the expresso) and - when I'd worked out how to not have it explode on me - the milk steamer works a treat. . .

<---- one happy woman

AND it goes will all the red things in the kitchen

katherine. I'll take a photo at some stage. . . or find one on-line, in the meantime, I'm just enjoying the coffee after months of drinking brown watery stuff
