how do you solve a problem like

no, not Maria, the ongoing saga of broken coffee machines? you buy a new one (a cheap one, a no complicated bits one, one for which replacement uncomplicated bits are stocked by the local shop where you bought it) people! may I never moan about coffee (or lack of, due to broken machines) again. . .

OH!! In a whitecup, if I could be so demanding.

(maybe the answer is in how the coffee's brewed? goobery thingies might not happen from cute pots like yours? :-/ )

I seem to recall that waaaaay back in the day, my grandmother had a percolator that lasted for ages and ages. Do they even percolate coffee any more?

All I need is a kettle and a mug.

I haven't been to see you today, so I'm just looking in to say, yes, that percolator would be exactly the type we had if we had one, in fact I've never been weaned off instant and don't want to be, but J. has a Bodum push-down filter cafetière, and today we've bought a new kettle, quite rare in France, because the old one started to leak. I'm sorry this sentence is so long, so short on conjunctions, I hope you took a coffee break in the middle of it. Happy Tuesday evening!

Christopher I used to love Gold Blend. . . wish that was still the case

happy even/morn/ing!

Dave and a tea-bag (or do you use leaves and a pot?) (actually, I suppose if that was the case, you'd have said a kettle, a pot and a mug. . .)

shot my parents had one of those. . . they used if when they had dinner parties (about once a year) and they used to buy freshly ground coffee especially for the occasions. . . this works just like that, the water percolates up from the tank (at the bottom) thru the coffee (in the middle) into the jug bit (on the top)

Mel I think that goobery things are a given if it's a white cup scenario. . .
