the continuing story of

or in my case, not working and only really playing around here. . .
but now it's your turn!
how many nursery ryhmes can you find and who is the odd one out? (and when I found those, I found this,
which was too sweet not to include. . .)
(back to the plot!)

any more with any more?!

I'm doing a thing about seeds with the children at my service on Sunday - if only I had a packet of your faith hope love seeds, I'd be very happy.

I, Like The View said...

your wish is my command

(shame we didn't have more notice - could have ordered some!)

found the link here which I found when google imaging "magic beans"

Dave said...

Wooo! Ta. Too late for Sunday, though, so I'll make do with the packet of seeds I've got this time.

I, Like The View said...

ooooh! Dave!! Dave!!

(*jumps up and down, waving hands in the air*)

look what I found!!

ring them up and tell them about this and see if they can give you something for free. . .

. . .you never know!!

I, Like The View said...

actually, now I've investigated that, there are no beans after all. . .

. . .so no "magic" either. . .

. . .which is probably just as well for your sermon

I, Like The View said...

get them to do that mustard and cress thing on a piece of paper towel cut to the shape of their hand

used to work a treat when I worked with small people

I, Like The View said...

(not that I'm telling you how to preach)

I'm either smart or a retarded child!
I know them all, except the last and I'm guessing Jack and Sally, but it's on;y a guess.

The others? The typescrip all work, no play, makes Jack a dull boy. (oh yeah!

The pie? Jack Horner.
Candle? Jack be nimble.
Bucket? Jack and Jill
The Morris-ish wallpaper? The house the J. built.

And, for the record: Pie are square, cake are round. As the little boy told his Pa when explaining why he'd been sent home from school.

Jolly good fun, all the same! TVM.

I, Like The View said...

or this even

I'll shut up now

I, Like The View said...

my pleasure dinah. . . I think Jack and Sally are from Nightmare Before Christmas from that brilliant man whose name I can't remember. . .

*wracks brain*

. . .ah! Tim Burton!!

dinahmow said...

is responsible for the upper case. Nothing whatsoever to do with the bubbles in my glass!

dinahmow said...

Yes! Burton That's it!
(Blimey! you were quick!)

Your other Norfolk friend-with-dogs will probably know the pie are joke. He can probably even do it it Greek. If not, Dave might.

I, Like The View said...

was muttering "beetlejuice! beetlejuice! beetlejuice!" and it came to me

I, Like The View said...

what other Norfolk friends with dogs? do you know something I don't!

Spadoman said...

Jack be nimble
Jack be quick
Jack jumped over the candle stick and burnt his arse

Jack and Jill went up the hill
They both had a buck and a quarter
Jill came doewn with two-fifty
They didn't go up for water

That's all I'm giving you this morning. I'm not much for nursery rhymes this early.
