tongue of cat

yes - your Friday treat

I'm ashamed - neh, horrified - to admit that it was only the coincidence of having my toe licked the other day, by one of the males of the household - a feline male - and a little later engrossed in one of my new reads, that the penny dropped as to why this delightful biscuit is named as it is named. . .

Have they all, individually, been rubbed over your toes?
I didn't think that this was that sort of blog.

Hmmmm.

oh dear

I've opened a can of worms. . .

. . .not that I'd offer you worms on a Friday

Why, I wonder, would anyone want to can worms? Is it a service for fishermen?

I, Like The View said...

why would anyone want to can beans (after baking them)

Dave said...

Because they make a delicious and nourishing meal, either on toast, or with a jacket potato.

I refer to beans, not worms.

I, Like The View said...

if it were worms, do you think they'd taste like tinned spaghetti?

Dave said...

I hope not.

Plenty of these in the larder, only one curled up on the settee.

There was a time in my life when I would have licked toes. Can't bend over that far anymore, that's why I stopped.
Those cookies, (that's what we call 'em over here dammit), look good enough to eat! Thanks for the treat!

Peace.

an epiphany?

I, Like The View said...

shot makes me want to study etimology in far more depth than I currently do. . .

man glad you're back safe and sound

they are very delicate biscuits, which are barely a mouthful - but delicious nonetheless

(our "cookies" are rather chunkier and more 3-D than our "biscuits" which tend to be flatter and of more regular shape)

Christopher I don't believe in the larder being a good place for a biscuit - stomach everytime for me!

Mel train the bug to sit in the trolley and pop up everynowandagain and shoot bubbles at unsuspecting passers by

Dave I wonder what worms do taste like

actually, no I don't

When I said "Dammit", I was just kidding. I don't care if you call them bisquits. I just like eating them in copious quantities!

Peace.
