"to 'make a mountain out of a molehill' is an English idiom which means to make a big deal out of a minor issue."
they continue:
"The metaphor is an old one. Horace wrote Parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus; 'the mountains will labour, a ridiculous mouse will be born.' Horace here meant to poke fun at heroic labours producing meager results; his line is also an allusion to one of Æsop's fables, The Mountain in Labour. The title to Shakespeare's play Much Ado about Nothing expresses a similar sentiment.
"Similar idioms exist in other European languages; a German equivalent is aus einer Mücke einen Elefanten machen, 'to make an elephant out of a mosquito'. Another idiom of this kind is the Romanian a face din tantar, armasar, i.e. 'to make a stallion out of a mosquito'. Also a Turkish idiom 'pireyi deve yapmak': 'making a camel out of a flea' or habbeyi kubbe yapmak: 'making a dome out of a particle' and in Finnish tehdä kärpäsestä härkänen: 'to make an ox out of a fly'."
and then they finish with this:
"The behaviour is frequently exhibited by persons suffering from anxiety disorder."
ho hum

huzzah. . .

Personally--I think I might haffta steal the making an elephant out of a mosquito line.
Or maybe we can make up one of our own!!
Oh, that'd be fun!
Ummmmmm...
....making an orange grove out of an orange pith.
k....I might be obsessing about the orange deal.
I'm sure someone else can do a much better job of it.....
Photos! Oh! OH!! :-)
So, you went ahead and kept at it and now the laundry is done. But is it? Is everything clean, dry and put away? You'll shower and change and it starts all over again. It'll creep up on you when you least expect it and rear its ugly head soon enough. Then you'll have to do more laundry, and more and more, and it will keep being that way until you die. The laundry is king. It rules totally.
I guess I made mincemeat of that!
Can't wait for the pictures.
Peace.
peace, man - and yes, for that briefest of brief moments in time, apart from the clothes on our backs, everything was washed, dried, ironed, folded, put away. . . there were no wet dirty towels in a pile in the bathroom, no underwear and socks stripped off and kicked into a corner, no pile of "only worn once, how much does it smell" clothes at the end of the bed. . .
. . .admittedly The Teen has been wearing the same pair of long black jeans for almost a month now (even in the 80 degree heat of the beach) but he claims they are not whiffy
*reaches for clothes peg*
Mel how about making a wind-farm out of a pin-wheel. . .
(haven't had enough coffee yet this morning, brain gone to mush)
I'm trying to remember if ...in my life... the laundry has ever really been done.
photos!!!!!
