Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glassesNo expression, no expressionHide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you , I find it hard to take
When people run in circles. . .
It's a very, very mad world mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous,
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world

The first photos made me think you were doing what I've been up to - framing and hanging old family photos.
I am going thru old photos as well...it is a sometimes melancholy task.
well, I heard the initial soulful piano chords in the background while the children were watching something on television the other day. . .
. . .and it took me an age to work my way thru the tunes in my head to remind me of the actual song
my head is so empty of tunes these days
and the reason for the images, Dave is because I find the tune really haunting and - to use your word katherine. - melancholic, it made me think in black and white (apart from the happy birthday part. . .)
couldn't find some of the images exactly the way they presented themselves in my mind, but this is a near enough approximation
so, not necessarily very happy. . .
but it led me (in my head) to REM's Everybody Hurts. . . and then strangely onto a song I can't place at all (very annoying!) but which then took me to Midnight at the Oasis
which is a nice place to land!

(I do recently old photos one a year, at xmas, and I find it very strange)
As dense as I am, I enjoyed this post. I am constantly going through old photos, and I listen to mostly old music as well. Not sure what it is all about, that's why I admit to density in the brainwave department. You do a lot of work putting these picture collages together. I see that and admire your efforts.
Peace.
Whoa.....
I don't know about the progression--but you're talking to a woman who went from 'no moon' to 'pirahna'. Doesn't have to make sense to anyone but us, I guess.
Which means I'm really in trouble...LOL
Beautifully photoshared, I must say. Though I admit I did find myself wanting to pull out coloured pencils and start colouring in the circles.....might pull out the kalidescope colouring book cuz I can......
