so, I was going to tell you about sickness

(Mini-Teen is poorly) but Mrs Google informs me that today is the birthday of Norman Rockwell. . .
and I was wondering how it is that I think I might have visited the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, sometime back in the heady times of the 1980s. . .

so I take a little trip on google maps and work out that it is entirely possible that I actually did so. . . it was while I was staying with my Manhattan friend. . .
as I recall, we went to Grand Central Station, purchased tickets
and took a train to the house of my friend's mother, to which we'd been invited for the weekend; the house was somewhere upstate in either New York or ConnecticutI remember that the trainline ran next to the Hudson River for a while. . . I can't remember how long the journey took
my friend's mother had a little white clapperboard house, picture perfect, tiny, quaint, exactly the house you'd imagine a successful woman (for she was, very successful, the friend's mother) from the city would have as a weekend retreat
and she'd put a jug full of freshly-picked lilac on my bedside table. . .

it's memories like this that make me think what a wonderful and blessed life I've had
.
anyhoo - enough about me
. . .spill the beans!
what's up with you today?
(yes, you!)

Uh oh.......sick kiddo alert!

Frankly, I'd wayyyyy rather take a trip through the museum than deal with a sick kiddo. And the clapboard house looks ideal, including all the green that surrounds it. *sigh* OH how I miss green.
And OH do I know how ucky it is to be unwell--the poor kiddo.....

Poor poorly Mini-Teen. Hope she gets better soon. (for both your sakes). At least it isn't one of those things that you just know everyone else is going to catch just when you think it's over!
Oddly enough I did spill the beans - all over the worktop and the floor :) Having a disorganised day today!

Camp Christopher! Never been called that before. The address here is Lydian Acres, incidentally...

...while the last Rockwell oviously traces the transmission of the tonsillitis bug...

...which I hope wasn't the alternative Zigs refers to: Happy Birthday, Zigs.

Christopher and just how many acres do you have?

ZiggZ happy belated, sweetie!

mig most of my days are disorganised. . . I hope it's not catching (I've has a sore throat, ear ache and general aches! but that could just be the weather)
