I was telling you about the St Minver Silver Band in Polzeath last summer. . . well, a few villages up the coast in Port Isaac they have a bunch of locals who sing, and not just sing, but sing really really well
so well, in fact, that they've been offered a recording contract! the only videos I could track down on the tube were people's holiday ones (which makes me think I must try and seek out the St Minver Silver Band) - but it kind of gives you the right idea. . .
now I like traditional music, so I enjoy this - but it might not be to everyone's taste (a little like a Fisherman's Friend, in fact)

I heard them singing on the Today programme earlier today.
I was playing brass band music in my car the other day.
and what's your verdict on the lozenge?
I rarely get sore throats.
The lozenges are hard to like but very effective. The singers are rather good (if you like that kind of thing, which I do).
I liked the bit of one news story which says most of the band has grown up together, except one who's lived in the village for 25 years so he's regarded as almost one of them.
Now I found that enjoyable, ty.
Dunno about the 'Fisherman's Friend', but if they're anything like strepsal (or whatever he called 'em when he handed one over to me onceuponatripwithasorethroat...)....
*accccckkkkkkk!!!!!*
