yesterday I was waiting at a bus stop (for a bus) (y'all know that I don't have a car) and the bus wasn't coming (they never do) (and then, y'all know the "punchline" - three of them turn up at once) so I wandered about a little. . .
. . .and I looked up and saw a tree full of acorns
I do so like acorns!
I'm kinda betting that most everyone
has a soft spot for an acorn or two, eh?

I like the little hats acorns have.
I could knit you a hat like that - might be a bit girly tho
(mind you, I still have a scarf with your name on it, from the last time I knitted you something!)
Our acorns aren't quite as big as that, but I agree that autumn is here. Al even had purple sprouting broccoli for sale - which means oncoming spring to me, but I'm old-fashioned.
I think the seasons seem to be getting all mixed up together, Z; next year I think I'll take my holiday in May or June - the weather might be better
I used to think I was fairly old-fashioned
then I spent some time with Dave
I just think I'm fairly old. Old beyond my years. Old like ... erm ... something very not young.
just wait until you're my age
Tell me he's not whining.....
*sigh*
I do, by chance, happen to like acorns! How'd ya know?!
And yup--some of the trees are starting up already.
I blame the full moon. :-/
Bit worried about all this. Firstly three acorns (Lat. glans) have turned up at once, secondly there are certain overtones to make Horatio the Hamster blush, and then you've adopted a kind of Mel-speak that I find as confusing as it's attractive...but perhaps that's just me.
oh Christopher. . . surely you know me well enough by now to know that I don't do rude!
how can someone (you) turn an autumnal nature table offering into something that would make a hamster blush? poor Horatio
tssk tssk
(-;
I forgive you tho
(-:
not whining, I meant old in my soul, old in my thinking, old in my intangible areas, not rings on a tree old.
I kinda like rings in a tree old. . . and I must say, that when I think of you, I think of someone youthful
(-:
glad you're not whining - we try not to do whining, don't we
we do silver linings
don't we?
(with all the rain we've been having lately, one has to hope that there's a silver lining somewhere or other!)
XX
Acorns are a silver lining if you're waiting for a bus.
I do have a soft spot for acorns. It's on the lawn directly beneath the oak tree. They love it. Indeed if it wasn't for the man with the lawn mower we'd have a forest by now!
Oh!! She's got an acorn tree--otherwise known as an acorn tree! :-)
And I'm so glad he wasn't whining about his age, tree rings or not.
(only cuz I'd have to see his whine and raise him another....LOL)
Poor Horatio the Hamster--small wonder he's currently running backwards. :-/
