feasting on Friday

strawberries!!
either with sugar and/or cream (single, double or clotted). . . or with freshly grated black pepper and a splash of balsamic (the longer aged the better!)

(one of the things I like about balsamic vinegar
is that the bottles are always so interesting)

you'll have to help yourselves - this flu is infectious! I'm sure you're all going to catch it anyhow at some stage, but preferably not from me. . .

. . .I'm not that kind of gal

(dunno quite what kind of girl I am, but I'm definitely not that kind)

Shame. We could have had a flu party and tried to catch it from you.

Sorry to hear that you are unwell. Your RSS feed isn't working properly for me at the moment, otherwise I would have been round to apply some soothing balms and so on.
However, I am obliged to take issue with this nonsense that you have just posted. I am, as you know, of the liberal tendency, and what people do with their fruit is, I recognise, their own business. But pepper and vinegar on strawberries? Have you gone mad? Mrs S comes from a foreign culture and one of their foibles is to apply coriander powder and salt to mangoes, and in recognition of the existence of the global family I let this pass with just a dash of scorn and ridicule, but what is your excuse?
If you fail to eat your fruit unblemished by condiments it is little wonder that you find yourself ill. If you think that God has failed to maximise their desirability, have them in combination with mangoes and bananas. Anything else is tantamount to blasphemy.
Get well soon.

I'd like sugar and crème fraîche please. Hope Vicus approves.
And I hope you are soon fit and well.

I, Like The View said...

ooooooh KAZ!! that sounds yummy. . .

but of course, I'll be following dear sweet Vicus' advice and eating my strawberries nude from now on

or laced with bananas and mango

Vicus do I win a prize for your longest comment ever! and who would have thought that strawberries would set you off. . .

. . .my excuse? *hangs head in shame* I have none

apart from an attempt at choice - offering you, and my other lovely friends, one or two

but perhaps it's not for me to offer choice? perhaps most people just see opportunities and take them, or not, and that is their "choice"

such heady debate so early in the morning - I must be delirious

thank you for the get well wishes

(RSS feed? I'll adjust my settings and see if that makes a difference)

Dave I should have sent The Teen round, when he thought is was funny to cough and sneeze on people

Sorrow glad I'm not alone!

I think it would have been more fun catching it from you.

I'm currently eating my home-grown strawberries with raspberries (also home-grown) and cornish clotted cream ice-cream.

I, Like The View said...

that's an interesting breakfast!

is it Kelly's? I keep seeing adverts for that (have been watching far too much tv, since I'm laid up) and dreaming of being on the beach at Polzeath. . .

Dave said...

It is indeed.

Breakfast at 9.50? This is the middle of the morning.

I, Like The View said...

so, you're just have a mid-morning snack then. . .

While dusky maidens peel grapes and feed them to me, yes, that's right.

I, Like The View said...

I've always wanted to be a dusky maiden and peel grapes for someone. . .

shame I'm still blonde really

Dave said...

You'd be welcome here any time. Just give me a few minute's notice, so I can shoo the dusky maidens away.

I, Like The View said...

thanks - I'll have to take you up on that one day

(-:

can you shoo them in this direction? I have a pile of ironing and washing up that might keep them busy. . .

Eating your strawberries nude? I am going to have to lie down.

I find I'm speechless at the randy turn this thread has taken. Not offended, mind you, just speechless.

Mark your calendars, people, it's a rare occurrence.

Mel said...

Gee. And I was simply going to say 'yes, please!'.

Now I wonder just what I'd be saying 'yes, please' TO!?!

*laughing*
Though I must say-- you did walk into that 'naked' remark....*laughing*
(Had he not taken it, I'm certain someone else would have.....naming no names, of course...)

So--with that being said--yes please!! ;-)

Blimey! (Well, this is your blog so I shan't say b***** h***)
First, balsamic threw me somewhat, then there was dear Mr. S. giving you a right (or wrong) dressing down about the dressing and then The Vicar weighed in and the conversation took a decidedly "cosy" turn and I was totally confused as to where I was. Perhaps I'm coming down with something?

I do hope normal service will be resumed soon.
