now, I don't often borrow things from other people (mainly cos I've lent out so much that has never been returned, I don't want to fall into that trap) but today is an exception. . .
.
so, with Ms Mel's permission*, I'm borrowing this from her and sharing it with you:
.
"if you seem to lack the energy to move forward, ask yourself this question: what is draining you? are there negative habits or thought patterns that steal your energy away? are there people in your life who drain your energy with their negativity? are you being constantly depleted by your focus on the world's difficulties? whatever may be draining your energy, you can find it and successfully deal with it
.
"once you do, you'll find you have all that is necessary to accomplish forward movement"
.
(*I'm working on the permission thing)(ooops)
.
this morning I had a panic attack
.
well, all the symptoms of one - but nothing to panic about
.
it came out of nowhere and stayed with me for a while and reminded me of how this time last year, or even nine-six months ago I'd have been reaching for the tablets in order to cope/escape; on this occasion, I thought it thru: what was I panicking about? there was nothing (I'll spare you the thought process that led me to "nothing", since obviously this isn't the case, but nothing "new" or "not done" on a to-do list and no great "impending doom" yadda yadda yadda)
.
so it was very strange, panicking but not panicking, if you see what I mean
.
I eventually distracted myself, the symptoms eventually subsided, and a while after that went about my day (and ticked at least, if not more than, three things off the to-do list); as I was out and about I found myself whistling carols* - which was a bit strange really, because it's not xmas until after Teen Too's birthday and that's not for a few days yet
.
(*one of them is a tune that I'd never heard of until this year and now I keep hearing it everywhere) (isn't it odd when that happens?)
.
so here I am: still humming that tune, a few very minor accomplishments achieved, a few more achievable ones left and then the biggie in the new year (finding a job)
.
I know we haven't even done xmas yet (nor Teen Too's birthday) and perhaps I shouldn't think about things too far down the line. . .
.
. . .but 2010 - wow! a new decade. . . how did that happen?
.
<--- can finally think more than a few hours in advance
